Challnege
Anzen Finance offered a wide range of advanced DeFi features, but the experience felt fragmented.
Users struggled to understand where to go, how features related to each other, and what was happening during and after transactions.
Goal
Bring the product into one coherent experience, making key actions easier to navigate and transaction outcomes clearer, while creating a foundation that could scale with future features.
Discovery
I began by walking through and documenting every critical flow, from swaps, staking, and bridging to vaults, ANZ locking, the USDz OTC market, dashboards, and collateral details. This revealed how users moved between features and where the experience became disconnected.
I then mapped the existing information architecture and compared it with established DeFi platforms. The comparison exposed a gap between Anzen’s navigation and the patterns users already expected, creating a clear direction for restructuring the product.

Key Design Decision 01
Helping users find the next meaningful action
After completing a primary action, users often reached a dead end. For example, locking ANZ unlocked governance participation, but the product never surfaced that opportunity, leaving users unaware of what they could do next.
I introduced contextual prompts at key moments to connect completed actions with relevant next steps, helping users move naturally through the product with less hesitation.

Making transaction history visible
Completed bridging and staking activity disappeared from the experience, leaving users with no clear way to review past actions.
I added accessible transaction history, making on-chain activity easier to verify without overwhelming the interface.
Key Design Decision 03
Making transaction states clear
After signing in their wallet, users received little feedback and were unsure what to do next. I added inline messages and visual cues to clearly communicate pending, completed, and failed states.
Outcome
From fragmented features to one connected DeFi experience.
I reorganized Anzen’s core flows around user goals, removing approximately 35% of redundant steps and making transactions easier to follow. A unified component library brought consistency across the product and created a scalable foundation for future features.
